Startup engineering is different. With lower product maturity, fewer resources, and less certainty about the future, startups have a whole bunch of constraints that must be taken into account when designing the product’s architecture and engineering procedures. Simply sticking to the latest engineering trends - will not necessarily be ideal for startups, and might put them in danger.

In this session, we will do a deep-dive session into: Open Policy Agent, Conftest, and GateKeeper. We will show real-life use cases of how to use those technologies in production in order to configure and enforce a centralized policy for Kubernetes Shimon and Noaa will present both sides of the dev stack, DevOps and Developers.

KubeCon is the biggest event to learn about Kubernetes and cloud-native development. From Kubernetes 101, through use case stories, to in-depth code walkthroughs. In the recent Kubecon, there were about 200 talks! In this session I will summarize the recent KubeCon event from my experience and highlight some interesting learnings from the sessions that I attended.

K3s is an open source project that recently got accepted to the CNCF Sandbox. The main goal of K3s is providing a lightweight k8s distribution using a single binary, while reducing the memory consumed by the orchestration tool. We will discuss what k3s is, compare it to k8s, see how it can be installed for different purposes, and go over its recent features and improvements.
