Inconsistent, incomplete, or incorrect instrumentation leads to the classic "garbage in, garbage out" problem, rendering your observability platform ineffective when you need it most. Simply having telemetry isn't enough, we need a way to measure and enforce its quality. I will show common instrumentation pitfalls, such as missing service.name attributes, broken context propagation, and discouraged metrics attributes, and show how to fix them.
