Call for Speakers: CNCF Cloud Native Sustainability Month 2026 – Local Meetup Birmingham

We’re looking for speakers to share practical ideas, experiences, and lessons on building more sustainable cloud native systems.

Join the Birmingham and West Midlands cloud native community to explore how engineering decisions can reduce infrastructure waste, improve resource efficiency, and support environmental sustainability.

Topics We’re Looking For

  • Sustainable cloud native architecture and engineering
  • Kubernetes efficiency, rightsizing, and autoscaling
  • GreenOps, FinOps, and environmental sustainability
  • Energy monitoring, carbon estimation, and observability
  • Carbon-aware workload scheduling
  • Efficient AI, GPU, and data workloads
  • Reducing waste in CI/CD, storage, and networking
  • Open source tools and projects supporting sustainability
  • Real-world case studies, experiments, and lessons learned

Session Format

We welcome practical talks, demonstrations, and case studies. Each session has a 45-minute slot, including Q&A.

Who Can Submit?

Engineers, developers, architects, sustainability practitioners, open source contributors, students, and anyone with a relevant experience or idea to share. First-time speakers are welcome!

You don’t need a finished project or a perfect success story. Challenges, experiments, and lessons learned can spark valuable community discussions.

Submissions open: Oct 7, 8:56 AM - Nov 15, 11:56 PM GMT, 2026
