    Stream Processing with Apache Flink

    in-person

Apache Flink is a stream processor built on four foundational big ideas. These core concepts include streaming, state, time, and consistent state snapshots. Flink SQL is a standards-compliant engine for both stream and batch processing. Watermarks are key for correct event-time processing in out-of-order data streams.Fault tolerance is achieved using globally consistent, self-contained state checkpoints.

Building a Kubernetes-native control plane with Crossplane (with Live Demo)

    in-person

This talk explores how Crossplane can be used to build a Kubernetes-native control plane for platform engineering. Instead of exposing cloud complexity to application teams, we’ll see how platform teams can define reusable abstractions and offer self-service infrastructure through Kubernetes APIs.

The session includes a live demo where we build a simple Crossplane composition and use it to provision a database on Cloud from scratch. We’ll focus on how compositions enable consistency, guardrails, and developer self-service - and what this looks like in a real-world internal developer platform.
