About this event

Agenda
  1. 5:30 PM CET

    Otvorenie dverí

    in-person
  2. 5:50 PM CET

Oncall Copilot for troubleshooting, Gábor Patassy

    in-person

Introducing an AI-powered Oncall Copilot designed to transform incident troubleshooting in Kubernetes and cloud environments. It unifies Grafana, PagerDuty, Sentry, Notion runbooks, and GitLab codebase knowledge to correlate events and surface real-time insights. This copilot empowers engineers to rapidly diagnose issues, identify root causes, and access actionable solutions. Experience faster incident resolution and enhanced observability across your entire tech stack.

  3. 6:30 PM CET

Kubernetes: The Ideal Foundation for a High-Performance open source CDN, Tomáš Boros

    in-person

Kubernetes API Server is a highly extensible platform with Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), making it an ideal foundation for building custom orchestration controllers.

As a former CDN developer, I set out to create EdgeCDN-X, an open source CDN built entirely on K8S. Via CRDs and controllers, EdgeCDN-X ensures fast, reliable deployment of services across global edge regions.

At the core of the platform, CoreDNS acts as a GSLB, routing customers to the nearest edge location based on GeoIP. Combined with active health checks and intelligent fallback strategies, the routing engine guarantees clients are always connected to a healthy, available edge.

Nginx caching and SR-IOV enabled NICs deliver high-performance content delivery directly to end users.

This talk dives into the challenges I encountered while building EdgeCDN-X and highlights the powerful features of the Kubernetes API server, showcasing why it’s the perfect platform for building reactive, scalable controllers.

  4. 7:10 PM CET

Practical tips to optimize image pulls, Michal Baumgartner

    in-person

Abstract: Slow image pulls can significantly impact container startup times and deployment velocity. This talk covers practical techniques for improving OCI image pull performance in containerd-based Kubernetes clusters. Topics include containerd configuration tuning, comparing snapshotter options for lazy loading, tuning kubelet configuration, and optimizing layer decompression during unpacking. Attendees will leave with actionable configuration changes they can apply to their own clusters and build pipelines.
