About this event

Cloud Native Platform Engineering Japanは、CNCFの日本チャプターであるCNCJのサブグループとして発足した、Platform Engineering領域のコミュニティです。

クラウドネイティブ技術の実践者や、社内プラットフォーム開発・運用に携わるエンジニア、マネージャーが集い、知見を共有し合う場であると共に、CNCFの傘下で活動しているPlatform Engineering Technical Community Groupなど、アップストリームの活動と密接に連携し、グローバルコミュニティとの架け橋となることを目指しています。

Meetup#3となる今回はKubernetesリソースを抽象化するKROの活用事例の動向や、Platform構築の知見など、明日からのプラットフォーム開発に活かせるインサイトをお届けします。

また 9/26土曜 に開催される Platform Engineering Kaigi 2026 （PEK2026）の前夜祭として、通常のセッションに加え、実行委員によるPEK2006見どころ紹介セッションも提供します。（アジェンダは変更になる可能性があります。）

Cloud Native Platform Engineering Japan is a Platform Engineering community launched as a subgroup of CNCJ, the Japan chapter of CNCF. It serves as a space where cloud native technology practitioners, engineers, and managers involved in internal platform development and operations can gather and share knowledge. We also aim to work closely with upstream activities such as CNCF Platform Engineering Technical Community Group, serving as a bridge to the global community.

For this third meetup, we will share practical insights that you can apply to your platform engineering work starting tomorrow—including trends and real-world use cases of KRO for abstracting Kubernetes resources, as well as hands-on knowledge for building platforms.

Additionally, serving as a pre-event for Platform Engineering Kaigi 2026 (PEK2026) held on Saturday, September 26, this meetup will feature a special preview session by the organizing committee highlighting the key takeaways of PEK2026, alongside our regular sessions.     世界の巨大工場を建ててきた人たちがAIでアプリを作り始めたので、プラットフォー...略

    Web系企業からプラント建設の事業会社に転職して驚いたことがあります。世界中の巨大工場を建ててきた非ITの人たちが、AIを使って自分で業務アプリを作っていました。ドメインに一番詳しい人が作るので、現場のニーズを捉えたものができあがっていることにも驚きました。 ただ、動くところまでは作れても、安全にデプロイするのは別問題です。入社1ヶ月でホスティングの相談を受けまくりました。作るハードルが下がった分、似たようなアプリが並行して立つ場面もありました。部署を見渡すと、AI製に限らず既存アプリの棚卸しもできておらず、外注か内製かも把握しきれていないこともありました。ドキュメントもSharePointやAzure DevOpsに散らばり、何をみればいいのかわからない状態でした。 そんな状況に直面して、プラットフォームエンジニアリングとBackstageにたどり着き、5月からMVPを作り始めました。EPCの会社の中で何を作り、いま何に詰まっているか、その途中経過をお話しします。

    話すこと ・カタログを最初に整備した理由 ・Backstage / AKS / Argo CD / Terraform / Kyverno などでどう組んだか ・構築よりも社内普及の方が大変だという話(社内勉強会での紹介、TechDocsへのドキュメント移行、Docusaurusテンプレートの配布など) ・これからやりたいこと(アプリ移管はまだ一部、部署を超えた活用など)

    Building elegant platform with KRO (English)

    At HENNGE, we are composed of multiple product teams that traditionally build their own infrastructures from scratch to deploy their workloads. To standardize infrastructure and streamline the deployment processes, we decided to build an internal developer platform as the central place to deploy our products across teams. Given our engineers' minimal experience and familiarity with Kubernetes, we decided to adopt KRO as the central component to implement a simple and easy-to-use API for deploying their workloads. In this talk I will introduce KRO and its features, and show how it allows the platform team to build a simple and elegant API that someone with no Kubernetes experience can start using from day one.
