Why your cloud-native system makes sense to you but not to anyone else
in-personInMobiCloud-native systems are often described in terms of infrastructure like Kubernetes, microservices, scaling, observability etc..
But one of the most common challenges teams face is not in just building these systems but in helping others understand, adopt, and work with them effectively.
In this talk, I want to explore why cloud-native systems that make perfect sense to the teams building them often feel difficult to approach for new developers, cross-functional teams, and even other engineers. I’ll break down the concept of “entry point mismatch” which is the gap between how systems are constructed and how they are understood and how this impacts onboarding, collaboration, and adoption.
Using real cloud-native scenarios, I would like this session to cover practical ways to: Introduce systems more clearly, reduce onboarding friction and improve developer experience without simplifying the underlying architecture.

Zero-Downtime Karpenter Migration Strategy
in-personInMobiThis session details a four-phase, zero-downtime strategy for migrating Kubernetes node autoscaling from the AWS Cluster Autoscaler (CAS) to Karpenter. You will learn how to execute a reversible, incremental cutover by deploying Karpenter alongside CAS, reducing legacy capacity, managing a controlled workload takeover, and maintaining a dormant fallback plan for immediate rollback
