Today, we run our new hands-on workshop format! This is Part II of the event Coding Dojo: 12-factor App organized by our friends of XPUG Trento. Note You can (and should) join even if you did not participate to Part I.

The Workshop

In the first part of the two events series, we took a real application and containerized it, applying the principles of the 12 Factor App methodology: externalized configuration, explicit dependencies, logs written to stdout, and a process that exports its own port. Now it's time to the take the next step: deploying the app to Kubernetes and building a CI/CD pipeline that moves it from commit to cluster automatically and repeatably. We’ll look at how the build, release, and run stages map onto manifests, ConfigMaps and Secrets, how to manage image versions, and how to keep development and production aligned so there are no surprises.
