Cloud Native Umeå - December Meetup 2026

Think of the last technical problem you have faced. That experience could already be a meetup talk.

We’re looking for speakers for our next Cloud Native meetup – and first-time speakers are very welcome. Whether you’re just getting started with Cloud Native tools and technologies or have years of experience, your perspective can help someone else take their next step.

You don’t need to be the leading expert, create polished slides, or have an answer to every question.

Something concrete to share is enough:

• A problem you’re working on – even if it’s still unsolved.
• An approach you tried – even if it didn’t work.
• A result that surprised you – and what you learned along the way.
• A tool or CNCF project you recently explored.
• An architecture question you’d like to discuss with the community.

Suggested themes (not an exhaustive list):

• Exploring cloud native projects – from first experiences and getting started to advanced usage.
• DevOps practices in production – quality assurance, incident response, reliability, and disaster recovery.
• Application development and architecture – building cloud native applications, exploring microservices, or adapting an existing application.
• CI/CD and GitOps – automating builds, testing, deployments, and infrastructure changes.
• Platform engineering and developer experience – building internal developer platforms, choosing and consolidating tools, and making developers’ daily work easier.
• Kubernetes operations – setting up clusters, managing upgrades, troubleshooting, and scaling workloads.
• Observability – using metrics, logs, traces, and profiling to understand what your systems are doing.
• Security – managing secrets and permissions, securing software dependencies, and applying security policies.
• Networking and connectivity – service discovery, gateways, service meshes, and understanding how traffic reaches your applications.
• Data and storage – running databases, managing persistent storage, and working with streaming or stateful applications.
• AI and machine learning – experimenting with or running models, AI agents, and supporting infrastructure in cloud native environments.
• Emerging technologies – experiments with tools and approaches such as WebAssembly, eBPF, or edge computing.
• Open source and community – making your first contribution, improving documentation, maintaining a project, or helping others get involved.

These are starting points. If you have a cloud native experience, experiment, or question that doesn’t fit neatly into this list, we’d still love to hear it. A small, concrete story is enough – you don’t need to cover an entire topic.

Your talk can be short, informal, and a work in progress:

• 5–10 minutes (or longer) talks are welcome
• Slides are optional
• “I don’t know” is a valid answer
• you can bring an open question and explore it with the room by leading a discussion
