📋 Meetup Agenda:

16:20- 17:00 - Mingling and food (let us know if you have allergies!)

(Doors Close at 17:00)

17:00 - 17:15 - Meetup start and introduction

17:15 - 18:00 - Talk 1 - Moving Bane NOR to GitHub - Awar Abdulkarim

Awar Abdulkarim, a Senior Platform Engineer at Sopra Steria, is currently working with platform services at Bane NOR.

Recently, Bane NOR has migrated from Azure DevOps to GitHub.

In this session, Awar will share the background for why the migration was initiated, how the process was carried out, and the challenges they encountered along the way. You will gain insight into concrete experiences and important lessons learned that can be useful for other large organizations that are considering or are in the process of adopting GitHub.

18:00 - 18:15 - Break

18:15 - 19:00 - Talk 2 - Self-Hosted Kubernetes Made Simple with k0s - Natanael Copa, creator of Alpine Linux.

Natanael Copa is the creator of Alpine Linux and a maintainer of the k0s Kubernetes distribution. He has over 20 years of experience in Linux and open-source infrastructure, with a focus on minimal, secure systems.

Thinking of running your own Kubernetes cluster, but overwhelmed by the complexity? You're not alone. Hosted solutions are convenient—but they come with trade-offs in cost, control, and transparency. What if running your own cluster was simpler than you thought?

In this session, we’ll walk through how k0s makes it surprisingly approachable to run a production-ready Kubernetes cluster on your own terms—whether it’s for homelab tinkering, edge deployments, or small-scale production use. We’ll demystify the moving parts of Kubernetes, show how k0s reduces operational burden with an all-in-one binary, and demonstrate how to bootstrap and manage your own cluster with minimal pain.

19:00 - 19:15 - Last comments and Meetup end.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!😸

❗️ Please only reply YES on the RSVP if you are actually coming.
