1st Presentation: Governance Without Gridlock: Making Kubernetes Work for Enterprise Architecture
Abstract: Kubernetes promises flexibility, but in large organizations that flexibility can quickly collide with governance expectations, enterprise standards, and competing stakeholder priorities. The result is often a platform that feels powerful to engineers but unpredictable to the business. This talk explores how enterprise architecture teams can support Kubernetes adoption without becoming bottlenecks. It introduces a governance model built around clear principles, decision ownership, service boundaries, and platform accountability rather than heavyweight control mechanisms. The session will show how to translate architectural intent into operating rules that support consistency while still allowing teams to move. It also examines the human side of governance, including stakeholder alignment, expectation setting, and the need for shared language between platform teams and business leaders. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for making Kubernetes fit into broader enterprise architecture conversations, especially in organizations balancing modernization with governance, compliance, and long-term platform sustainability.

2nd Presentation: Cloud-Native AI for Autonomous Solar Operations at Utility Scale
Abstract: Utility-scale solar farms increasingly depend on distributed AI, edge computing, and cloud-native platforms to manage thousands of connected devices across geographically dispersed sites. This session explores the architecture of an AI-orchestrated robotic maintenance platform deployed across 847 MW of solar infrastructure, combining autonomous cleaning robots, aerial inspection drones, IoT sensors, and predictive analytics.
The platform continuously ingests telemetry from field devices, evaluates soiling conditions, and uses machine learning models to prioritize maintenance based on projected energy recovery and operational efficiency. Cloud-based orchestration coordinates autonomous robots while integrating data from edge systems to support real-time decision making across large-scale deployments.
During a 16-month deployment, the system reduced soiling-related energy loss by 31%, recovered 47,300 MWh of additional energy generation, reduced water consumption by 58%, and improved energy recovery per cleaning event by 34%. Integrated imaging and thermal inspection also achieved a 91.7% detection rate for panel micro-cracks and identified defects 2.3 times faster than annual inspection cycles.
Beyond the deployment results, this session examines the cloud-native design patterns behind the platform, including distributed telemetry collection, edge-to-cloud data processing, AI-driven orchestration, and resilient operations for autonomous field systems. Attendees will gain practical insights into designing scalable architectures that connect AI, IoT, and cloud infrastructure to support reliable, real-time industrial automation.
