About this event

Platform teams face a critical challenge: enabling developer self-service while maintaining reliability, security, and operational clarity. Many existing platforms introduce abstractions that distance teams from Kubernetes, making day-2 operations increasingly complex.

In this session, Lakmal Warusawithana introduces OpenChoreo, a CNCF Sandbox project and Kubernetes-native internal developer platform built for platform engineers. OpenChoreo treats Kubernetes as the system of record, layering abstractions that remain visible and operable for SREs. The session explores how it combines a Backstage-based portal with strong governance and a modular architecture for CI/CD, observability, and policy integration.

The demo will showcase AI-assisted operations, including an SRE agent for incident triage and root-cause analysis, and workflows that help teams understand deployments and runtime behavior without losing control or visibility.

This session is ideal for SREs, platform engineers, and teams building production-ready Kubernetes platforms.
