Cloud Native Aachen Meetup, April 2026
Spring is finally around and we're celebrating with another two great talks!
Talks
Our first talk by Jeremy Theocharis, Co-Founder and CTO of United Manufacturing Hub, an open-source infrastructure platform for modern factories. Kubernetes was designed as a control system. The original designers said so in their 2016 "Borg, Omega, and Kubernetes" ACM paper. Control theory explains why Kubernetes recovers: the reconciliation architecture is control theory done right. But control theory has been predicting system failures for decades, and it predicts Kubernetes failures just as well. This talk walks through both sides, why it's resilient and where it breaks.
Our second talk by Holger Falk, Site Reliability Engineer at INFORM, operating an Enterprise-Scale Kubernetes Multi-Tenancy with Capsule. They manage a large-scale Kubernetes platform serving dozens of engineering teams using a lightweight multi-tenancy approach powered by Capsule. This talk demonstrates how Capsule provides namespace-as-a-service while seamlessly integrating with the CNCF ecosystem including FluxCD for GitOps, Crossplane for self-service infrastructure, and Kyverno for policy enforcement. We'll share our production architecture patterns, real-world challenges, and lessons learned from operating multi-tenant clusters at scale, showing how a simple, opinionated tenancy model enables developer autonomy while maintaining platform team control.
Venue Information
Food and drinks will graciously be provided by our amazing hosts at INFORM. We are looking forward to meeting everyone in person again, see you in April.
Please be aware that at the location you will first need to drop by the welcome desk and pick up a personalised visitor badge. For that purpose, we REQUIRE attendees to register through this event page and will share attendee names with INFORM to prepare said visitor badges. No other personal information other than your name will be shared.
If you would like to attend but do not consent to your name being shared with the venue, please email us at meetups@cloudnative.ac. Please note that you will then have to directly share your information with the venue at the welcome desk anyway.
Travel
The venue is at Pascalstraße 67, 52076 Aachen-Oberforstbach. Entrance is on the right side of the building. To reach by public transport, we recommend taking lines SB63 or 22 from Aachen Hbf, with returning options at the end of the event.
