Telenor has spent years in public cloud. What we learned there is what we want to practice on prem, so we are building our own private cloud. It has to be sovereign, scalable and declarative, built on CNCF projects.
Kubernetes is the platform control plane. Metal3 handles the hardware, Cluster API makes clusters out of the machines, and KubeVirt gives tenants their own clusters on the same metal. Authentication is done with federated identities and short lived tokens. Keycloak issues them, and workloads identify themselves with their own ServiceAccount.

18:15 - 19:00 - Erik Godding Boye (Zenior) - Accurate Self-Service Kubernetes Multi-Tenancy
Kubernetes does not provide multi-tenancy functions on its own. In a shared cluster, a cluster-admin grants privileges in a Namespace to a tenant by creating a RoleBinding. In many cases, a tenant needs to have multiple namespaces to run several independent applications. However, tenant users are not allowed to create/edit/delete namespaces because Namespace is a cluster-scoped resource.
This talk will present Accurate, a less-known Kubernetes operator enabling teams to self-provision namespaces and control the propagation of resources in the tenants’ namespace hierarchies. With a single CRD and a handful of labels/annotations, Accurate enables tenants with the power to solve the most common multi-tenancy use cases.
