Cloud Native Douala
Our mission is to build an inclusive, vendor-neutral Cloud Native community in Douala, Cameroon, and accelerate the widespread adoption of cloud computing, Kubernetes, and modern cloud native technologies across Central Africa.
A key priority is to bring cloud native education into universities, engineering schools, and technical institutions such as IUTs, introducing students to Linux, containers, Kubernetes, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure early in their academic journeys.
Through free meetups, hands-on workshops, technical demonstrations, certification study groups, and open-source contributions, we aim to bridge the gap between academic education and real-world industry practices.
We want to empower students, educators, developers, DevOps engineers, SREs, and IT professionals to understand the complete lifecycle of modern workloads, from application development and containerization to automated deployment, orchestration, observability, reliability, and security.
Our long-term vision is to establish Douala as a leading cloud native community hub in Central Africa, foster collaboration between academia and industry, encourage contributions to CNCF projects, and accelerate the transition from traditional IT infrastructure to scalable, secure, and resilient cloud native architectures.
By making cloud native knowledge accessible to everyone, we aim to develop a new generation of engineers capable of designing, deploying, securing, and operating modern applications while actively contributing to the global open-source ecosystem.
