ArgoCD, Argo Workflows and Argo Rollouts in the real world
17:30 - 18:00 - Gathering Food & Drinks
18:00 - 18:30 - The journey from Jenkins CI/CD to Argo Workflows - Guy Belo, Intuit
Argo is a well-known CNCF project that has many components. In the presentation, we will show how we utilized ArgoCD with Argo Workflow to run integration tests. The journey from running integration tests as part of our Jenkins CI/CD pipeline all the way to running the tests K8S pods were full of steps and turns but eventually we found what works for us and could provide a flexible and durable way to test our services without depending on third-party managed services.
About Guy: Guy is a technical leader at Intuit's Security R&D DevOps group. Enthusiastic about CI/CD processes, working with containers and container orchestration using K8S.
18:30 - 19:00 - Looking under the hood of Argo CD and GitOps - Noa Barki, Datree
In this session, we’ll cover what is Argo CD and Argo Workflows, how they work under the hood and what are the best practices of using them.
We’ll get practical experience by doing a live demo of deploying Argo CD and setting up a fully automated CD pipeline for Kubernetes configuration changes. All this will be demonstrated with Argo CD, Kubernetes, and Datree.
About Noa: Developer advocate, a full-stack developer and one of the leaders of GitHub Israel community.
19:00 - 19:30 - Progressive Delivery via Argo CD and Argo Rollouts - Itai Gendler, Codefresh
Deploying fast and with confidence is listed very high in the requirements of a modern team that is developing a container-based application that is being deployed frequently.
Core native k8s ways of achieving deployment are not cutting it and thus there are a bunch of new systems that strive to provide better control and progressive approaches for delivering new versions of the software.
Argo rollouts come to the rescue and offer modern progressive delivery approaches like blue/green and canary deployments along with integrations to external systems that take metrics and will roll back the changes in case of issues.
About Itai: Chief architect at Codefresh, One of the first employees of Codefresh, taking part in building the infrastructures of the platform including the progressive delivery release life cycle.
