Call for Speakers: Brand New Day | October Meetup Kubernetes Sri Lanka x Grafana Friends Colombo
Colombo's cloud native crew is back, and we want to hear from you!
We're looking for speakers for October Meetup on Friday, 30 October 2026 at Creative Software Auditorium. If you've built something, broken something, fixed something, or learned something worth sharing about Kubernetes or observability, this is your stage.
You don't need to be an expert or a seasoned speaker. Some of the best talks come from people sharing real problems they solved at work. First-time speakers are very welcome, and we're happy to help you shape your talk and do a dry run before the event.
TOPICS WE'D LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT
- Kubernetes in production: scaling, upgrades, multi-cluster, cost optimization
- Observability with the Grafana stack: Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Pyroscope, Alloy
- OpenTelemetry: instrumentation, collectors, traces, metrics and logs
- Dashboards and alerting that actually help on-call engineers
- Platform engineering and internal developer platforms
- GitOps and CI/CD on Kubernetes
- SRE practices, incident stories and postmortems
- Security, policy and compliance in cloud native environments
- AI workloads on Kubernetes, or AI applied to observability
- Anything else cloud native you're excited about
TALK FORMATS
- Full talk: [20 to 25] minutes including Q&A
- Lightning talk: [5 to 10] minutes
- Live demo: show us a real dashboard, cluster or workflow in action
WHAT MAKES A GREAT SUBMISSION
- A clear problem and what you did about it
- Real-world experience, lessons learned and mistakes made
- Demos or practical takeaways the audience can use the next day
- Vendor-neutral content (product pitches are not a good fit)

Colombo's Cloud Native crew is back in action!
Kubernetes Sri Lanka and Grafana Friends Colombo are coming together for October Meetup: Brand New Day. It's an evening for everyone who builds, runs, or observes systems on Kubernetes, and for anyone curious about getting started.
Expect practical talks from engineers in the community, live Grafana dashboards on screen, and plenty of time to meet the people behind Colombo's platform engineering and observability scene. Whether you're running production clusters, tuning your first dashboard, or just want to see how others are doing it, there's a seat for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Talks on Kubernetes and the Grafana observability stack
- Live demos and real dashboards, not just slides
- Networking with platform engineers, SREs, DevOps folks and developers
- Snacks and refreshments (and the loudest snack queue in Colombo)
