CNCG Pune September Meetup: Building Sustainable & Carbon-Aware Cloud Native Systems
CNCG Pune is back for our September meetup! This month, we are focusing on Environmental Sustainability and Green Computing in the cloud-native ecosystem.
As Kubernetes clusters and AI/ML workloads grow, managing resource efficiency, reducing carbon footprints, and optimizing energy usage have become critical engineering priorities. Join us to learn about open-source sustainability initiatives (such as CNCF Kepler, Green Software Foundation principles, and carbon-aware autoscaling), hear talks from industry experts, and network with fellow community members.
📋 Agenda Highlights (Tentative) 09:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Registration, Welcome & Community Updates 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Technical Sessions & Demos (See topics below) 11:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Break & Networking 11:45 AM – 01:00 PM: Advanced Session / Panel Discussion: Measuring & Lowering Your Cloud Carbon Footprint 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM: Lunch, Swag Distribution & Open Networking
💡 Recommended Talk Topics / Call for Proposals (CFP)
- Kepler (Kubernetes Efficient Power Level Exporter): Real-time energy monitoring using eBPF in Kubernetes.
- Carbon-Aware Workload Scheduling: Scheduling batch jobs & AI training when local grid intensity is lowest.
- FinOps meets GreenOps: Rightsizing Kubernetes pods and nodes to reduce both cloud spend and carbon emission.
- Green Software Engineering Principles: Writing energy-efficient code and architectures in Go/Rust/containers.
Note:
- RSVP is mandatory due to venue capacity constraints.
- This is a free, in-person event. No recording will be shared post-meetup.
