哈囉大家好，我們將在 3/20 (三) 19:30 (UTC+8) 舉辦今年第一場的 meetup，這次邀請到 Navendu Pottekkat，目前是 Apache APISIX 的維護者，要來跟我們分享去年剛釋出正式版本的 Kubernetes Gateway API，過去已有 Ingress API 和其他實作方式，為何還需要新的 Gateway API，以及解決什麼樣的過往問題，如果沒有使用過，這次可以歡迎一起來聽聽！

Hello everyone, we will host the first meetup of the year on March 20th (Wednesday) at 19:30 (UTC+8). This time, we have the pleasure of inviting Navendu Pottekkat, currently a maintainer of Apache APISIX, to share with us about the Kubernetes Gateway API, which was just officially released last year. We'll delve into why there is a need for the new Gateway API despite the existence of the Ingress API and other implementations and what kind of past issues it resolves. If this is your first time using it, this is an excellent opportunity to come and learn!
Did you know that there's such a thing as a digital journey in open-source contributions? This time, we have invited Phil Huang, a CNCF Ambassador, to introduce the Linux Foundation Profile to everyone. If you are interested in or participating in CNCF project open source contributions, don't miss out on this session!
The rest of the time will be spent networking with all of you. Feel free to share how you usually use Kubernetes (note that the networking time will not be recorded, so if you miss it, it's gone). See you on Wednesday evening!

A Hands-On Introduction to the Kubernetes Gateway API - Navendu Pottekkat
virtualWhy do you need another API to handle external traffic when you have the stable Kubernetes Ingress API and dozens of implementations? What problems of the Ingress API does the new Gateway API solve? Does this mean the end of the Ingress API?
In this short talk, Navendu will answer these questions by exploring how Gateway APIs evolved and solved the shortcomings of the Ingress API with hands-on examples.
Attendees will learn about the new Gateway API and how they can implement feature-rich, extensible, vendor-neutral gateways to their Kubernetes clusters.
