Observability and instrumentation via OpenTelemetry

Welcome to Cloud Native Malmö's first-ever event! This is an in-person event.

We will do a presentation to explain the fundamentals of observability - what metrics, logs, and traces are, and what the difference between them is. Then we will explain instrumentation, and how it is meant to be standardized via the CNCF-project OpenTelemetry. We will do a live demonstration on how instrumentation can be done via OpenTelemetry in Python. We will look in detail how tracing works, all based on open-source examples hosted on a public GitHub account.

Lunch will be provided! There will be time to talk to and get to know the audience as well.
