This talk shares a long-running personal journey of building and maintaining a homelab alongside a professional career in IT. It looks at how setups evolve over time, how requirements slowly grow, and how decisions made years ago continue to shape today’s systems.

With a strong focus on pragmatism and cost awareness, the talk reflects on trade-offs around operability, maintainability, and experimentation — applied in a small, very personal environment.

Aimed at anyone running a homelab — or thinking about starting one — it offers a realistic, down-to-earth view of why a homelab is never truly finished.
