Meetup theme: Platform Engineering

Meetup will be in hybrid mode and the panel discussion will be in English. The physical part takes place in Microsoft Prague office. Online stream will be available on Bevy platform for registered attendees. Records will be published to community's Youtube channel.

Topic of this panel discussion questions is to explore various facets of platform engineering, encompassing perspectives from both developers and platform engineers. Speakers would discuss the maturity of platform engineering as a whole, strategies for abstracting platforms to streamline development for developers, ensuring the appropriate level of abstraction to relieve developers from the need to become Kubernetes experts, and understanding the expectations of platform engineers when working with platforms. Additionally, speakers will delve into the realm of platform orchestrators, including experiences with different orchestrators such as Kubernetes and Platform as a Service (PaaS), the challenges organizations encounter in scaling and optimizing internal developer platforms, common obstacles and lessons learned in building and scaling internal developer platforms, and future trends and advancements in platform orchestration. Overall, the questions aim to provide insights into the complexities, challenges, and future directions of platform engineering and orchestration.
