Cloud Native Melbourne and Grafana & Friends Melbourne are joining forces for one night.

Observability is the thing everyone agrees matters and nobody agrees how to do. Most of us are running more dashboards than we can name, alerting on things that made sense two years ago, and finding out what we should have instrumented at 3am on a Tuesday.

So that's the night. Not a product tour — practitioners talking about what they actually run, what it cost them, and what they'd do differently.

Speaking slots are open

We would rather hear from this community than from a vendor deck.

If you've untangled a monitoring setup, killed a pile of dashboards nobody looked at, run OpenTelemetry in anger, or built SLOs that survived contact with a real on-call roster — that's a talk, and we want it.

You do not need to be an expert or an experienced speaker. Lightning talks are 5 to 10 minutes and first-time speakers are genuinely welcome. We'll help you shape the topic, review your slides, and rehearse the demo.

Who this is for

Platform engineers, SREs, developers who carry a pager, and anyone who has inherited a monitoring setup they didn't build and doesn't trust. You do not need to be an expert. There are no bad questions here.

Two minutes from Southern Cross Station and a short walk from Flinders Street. Head to Level 2 and someone will meet you at the lifts from 6:00pm.
