About this event

Join us for an evening of learning and networking at the München Kubernetes/Cloud Native Meetup, sponsored by Alasco! This event is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the world of cloud native technologies and how they can transform your infrastructure.

18:00 - Opening, Networking & Welcome

18:30 - Johannes Großmann - Software Engineer at Docker

-Debugging Innovation

19:00 - Network'n'Snack

19:30 - Fabian Brundke - Sr. Platform Engineer at Liquid Reply

-Boosting Kubernetes Performance - How to tune DNS resolution

Session: Debugging Innovation

Let me shell in my nginx container to change this config quickly, but oh sh*t, I can’t, why is there no editor?! Debugging is hard, debugging containers is harder, debugging containers in K8s can be nightmare. Learn about new tools we at Docker develop to get you a shell in any container/image/pod.

Session: Boosting Kubernetes Performance - How to tune DNS resolution

This session will begin with an introduction to CoreDNS and its critical role in Kubernetes networking. We'll then examine how CoreDNS performs with the default configuration that is typically used. After that, we will explore what options we have to tune CoreDNS performance. Starting with "ndots" to show its impact on DNS resolution and cluster efficiency, we'll move on to the implementation and benefits of a node-local DNS cache.

Our journey will reveal how small tweaks can lead to big improvements in Kubernetes network performance. This talk combines theory with practical insights, all with the goal of improving your Kubernetes environment.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced professional, this meetup will provide you with valuable insights and practical knowledge to accelerate your journey into the cloud native realm.

Network with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in containerization, Docker, virtualization, and cloud computing.
