Bio:

Serhii Ivanov, a Golang enthusiast and Senior Software Engineer based in Cracow. I love building backend systems and working with Kubernetes. I've spent the last few years improving server provisioning, creating custom operators, and contributing to various open-source projects. When not coding, I'm either tinkering with interesting OSS projects or enjoying downtime. Always up for wearing different hats and tackling challenging technical puzzles!

19:00 Break

19:15 Talk 2 + QA (45 min), Piotr Jabłoński - “Local Redirect Policy in Cilium OSS - two use cases"

Abstract:

The Local Redirect Policy (LRP) in Cilium ensures that traffic is redirected from the front-end service to the back-end pod on the local node. A well-known use case is how to provide a local DNS cache on each worker. The presentation also shows an invented use case of how to configure a single unified service name accessible from any namespace instead of creating multiple services for each namespace separately.

Bio:

Piotr Jabłoński is a Senior Solutions Architect at Isovalent/Cisco. He advises and supports the customers with Kubernetes' deployments with a focus on networking, security and observability. More info: https://www.linkedin.com/in/piotr-jablonski/
